SUPERMAN RETURNS: HENRY CAVILL IS IN DEVELOPMENT ON 'MAN OF STEEL' SEQUEL
Welcome back, Superman.
Following reports that a Man of Sequel has been greenlit by Warner Bros., Henry Cavill’s management has confirmed that the movie is on the way.
Dany Garcia, whose company represents Cavill and is also the steward of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s super-busy career, said that Cavill is “in development for the Superman standalone,” according to an interview in Newsweek. Garcia says that Cavill is continuing to build his brand and his career, which will include another go in a Superman-centered film. Cavill is currently filming Justice League in London.
“Henry has a big appetite,” Garcia said. “We’ve been in a five-month period of time where he’s re-strategizing, acquiring property [for his production company Promethean], he’s filming [Justice League] now, he’s in development for the Superman standalone… he’s beginning to expand that world. It’s beautifully teed up. In a year from now, or two years from now, he’s going to be a force globally.”
Cavill may have already hinted at the film after posting a new look for Superman on his social media—the muscular actor shared a photo of a black Superman suit—but when will we actually see it? Could it be in the upcoming Justice League? Or wwill Cavill don the new spandex in the Man of Steel sequel?
