Iron Man Gets The Logan Trailer Treatment

The best moments come from the beginnings of the original Iron Man, where Tony is being held captive and is trying to survive by building his first piece of armor. There are some great quotes from Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) throughout the trailer, but Stark's delivery is less guttural than Logan and Xavier's, so it doesn't hit as hard. The other highlights are actually from Captain America: Civil War, which is used to bring the trailer to a close, and done so quite effectively.

The biggest disconnect is the polish and sheen of Tony's world, which doesn't work quite as well as Logan's barren wasteland, harsh circumstances, and brooding characters. Still, it's an impressive job by DrFlashPoint, who managed to assemble some great footage from what was there.

Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutantkind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
