'Arrow' Season 5 Episode 8 Latest Spoilers, News & Update: Black Canary Laurel Lance Returns; Will Oliver Finally Have Closure?

Together with the cryptic photo, the synopsis of "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 8 was also revealed. Green Arrow himself wakes up in an alternate timeline where the shipwreck in season one never occurred and neither did his vigilante alter ego, Arrow. Oliver Queen finds himself happy and engaged to her first girlfriend Laurel Lance hence the wedding gown on the photo.

What happened to Oliver's ex-girlfriend Felicity Smoak? In the alternate timeline in "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 8, she ends up with the Atom a.k.a Ray Palmer. A photo was also released between Felicity Smoak and Ray Palmer, Smoak was seen wearing a ring, which means they are either engaged or married.

"It is such a radical departure from anything that we have ever done on the show," Stephen Amell said to TV Line. "We utilize the fantastical elements that we bring in on The Flash and carry through to Legends of Tomorrow with the present-day storyline to create something...that is not a flashback a flash-forward. It's something else entirely," he continued when asked about "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 8.

In the alternate timeline in "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 8 we can also see the return of Oliver Queen's parents, Robert and Moira Queen. Oliver Queen might get a chance to reconcile and bring closure with both his parents and Laurel Lance.

Photos of Oliver's sister Thea Queen hugging her mother Moira was also revealed. Best friend Tommy Merlin is missing in action in the promotional photos for "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 8.
